October Announcements!
Lot's of news for October and so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
First I would like to announce the birth of my daughter! She was born last Wednesday morning, weighing 7lbs 14 oz. She is healthy and strong and beautiful. I would think so though, wouldn't I? The others are delighted with her, even my 19 month old son. I am so thankful for the blessing of a new daughter!
Recipe Round-Up!
Yes, I crazily signed up to host this month's roundup, knowing full well I'd be giving birth at the top of the month. But I thought it would be fitting as this month's theme is:
Freezer Recipes
Please share any recipe that freezes well. It can be something that easily doubles so you can freeze the leftovers for a busy day or something that provides a base for the quick assembly of a meal. The options are wide open here, so please share what you make to store up in the freezer for another time.
The roundup will take place here next Thursday, October 18. Simply post your recipe on your blog then come over and provide a link with Mr. Linkey. If you have a recipe you want to share but no blog, leave a message in the comments box and I gladly post your recipe on the front page of my blog.
Also, Kim of Hiraeth, is kindly keeping a file of all the previous round-ups which she will email to you. She calls it the Blogger's Cookbook. If you'd like to host a Round-Up, go here for more details regarding the Recipe Round-Up.
Looking forward to adding a few more recipes to my file box! See you next Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving (even if it's not until next month for you)!
PS If posts are few and far between this month, re-read the first announcement for the reason why!

What a beautiful baby girl!
Congratulations!
I'll be making this year's batches of pesto from this year's basil plants--enough to freeze for the entire year. I'll post my freezer pesto recipe!
Thanks for hosting!

Congratulations!!
I've NEVER prepared a meal and then put it in the freezer. Isn't that terrible? I have a lot to learn when it comes to cooking ahead and freezing.

I have a recipe in mind (can you believe it) I will get it up here by Thursday. I am actually starting to enjoy cooking for some reason. Partly becasue it's just easier to eat what I should if I make it.
I am overjoyed about the pastry! I feel privilged that Luke got to eat pie because of my recipe!
And how does one make Turkey pot pie and apple pie healing from a c-section??

Ha, ha...one does not make pies while recovering from a c-section! My mother-in-law did - I am so very blessed to have her.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Yikes and your hosting tomorrow. :) Mine is up a day early to serve as a reminder, also. Here's my link that goes straight to the recipe.
